I am having problems daily with 2-3 leaves turning yellow. When I look at the underside, there is a black substance at the base where the leaves join the stalk. What is this and how do I treat it? The plant has beautiful blooms though not many at one time. I have the plant in a pot. Victor on May 26, 2017 at 10:05 pm Spray it with a mix of dish washing soap and hot pepper. 1 tbsp of the soap and 1 tsp of the hot pepper in a gallon of water. Should do the trick. Florence on April 5, 2016 at 5:34 pm Hello. I have recently become interested in hibiscus. Does anyone sell unusual or giant hibiscus plants.
